Elizabeth Edwards: Public Life, Public Death

Elizabeth Edwards: Public Life, Public Death Elizabeth Edwards, lost her battle to breast canser today. It is said her ex-husband John Edwards was at her side when she passed. It is my opinion he should have been faithful and by her side as she battled her six year journey with canser. May she rest in peace!

Baby Sofie's Cradle

My daughter Jocelyn will be induced the first week of October. This is another miracle in our lives. Jocelyn has juvenile diabetes since she was three years old, this has made both of her pregnancies very hard on her body. We have been surrounded by so many prayers and well wishes that we can feal the Lord working in our lives every second. After much waiting Princess Sofie is almost here. I know that every princess needs a cradle so I went out and desinged and made hers. This is the reason I have not been scrapbooking or doing cards, all of my time has been consummed by baby and mom.

Sympathy

I did this card for the family of "Pink Stamper". Her 22 year old niece was killed while jogging in the park.If you go to the pinkstamper.com you will find details in sending a card to this family. I used the Cuttle Bug Swiss Dot" embossing folder and the scallops were done with EK punch. I only used the Cricut for the envelope.

Hoot

For this card I used the Cricut "Wild card cartridge on page 72.

My Favorite Valentine

This picture of my grandaughter, Angie and me, was taken Valentines Day 2009. Most of the flowers I used in this layout are regular silk flowers. I scrapbook because I like the art of scrapbooking. My main concern is not to preserve my pictures, that is why I sometimes use regular silk flowers. All of the pictures I scrapbook are digitally saved, so I don't worry about acid free materials. However, if this concerns you, there are sprays that neutralize the acid and are specifically formulated for scrapbooking. Hobby Lobby Carries it. I hope you enjoy this new layout.

6 Petal Rose Tutorial

TO MAKE THESE ROSES YOU WILL NEED: ~ A 6 petal punch (any size, the size of your rose will vary by the size of the punch you use, ....for this rose I used a punch that has a punched image about the size of a quarter) ~ Scissors ~ Glue ~ Ink ~ Cardstock ~ toothpick or wooden skewer
Cut each of the punched blooms as shown below. You will put a slit in one of the blooms, cut 2 petals out of the second and 1 petal out of the third. Giving you 5 pieces to work with......
Punch 3 six petal blooms and ink the edges with a complimentary ink.....
Glue the petals of each of the larger pieces as shown below. Bring right petal over glued petal to make 3 cones (One cone will have 5 petals, one will have 4 petals and the other 3 petals)....
Below is a picture of one of the glued flower cones. Using your toothpick or skewer curl each of the petals back.....
For the single petal piece just curl both edges inward, pop a little glue at the bottom and stick it inside the swirl of the 2 petal piece. I snip a tiny bit off the bottom of this piece, add glue and put in the center of the bloom.
