My name is Maritza and I live in Richmond, Indiana with my husband Tomas-to whom I have been married since 1971.
We have 3 grown children and 5 beautiful grandchildren.
I love to scrapbook, card making, crochet, needle point, sewing and my latest love hand quilting.
To all Daughters and Moms... Today was a wonderful day! God gave me the opportunity to share His love with a young lady that is in much need of His grace.
I am a volunteer for an organization that helps women (specially the very young)deal with mostly unwanted pregnancies. We share with them the sanctity of life and the many options that are in our community to help them.
Today, when I told my first young lady that her pregnancy test was positive, she sunk her face in her hands and cried in despair. I hugged her, and we cried together until she was able to re-gain her composure.
I shared with her, a God that new exactly what she was going through and I also told her He would be there every step of the way.
This young mom told me that she did not know what she was going to do but one thing she did know was that she was not going to get an abortion. I asked her how she came to this conclusion and she replied, "I can not kill my unborn child".
When I gave this young lady the news, she was by herself, she did not have a mother or a father to stand next to her, to re-assure her that everything will be alright. The only concern she had was, "how am I going to tell my mom".
On days like this I give thanks to God for the mother that I have and for the communication I have shared with my two girls. My daughters are married with children of their own. If this would have happened to them the first person they would have come to would have been me.
Dear Lord God in heaven, I thank you for the many blessings You have given me as a MOM...and if there is one out there that I can help, in Your name, please Lord, give me the wisdom and grace to share Your love. Happy Mothers Day to all!!
Note: As you can see I am not a good writer, but I do hope I have been able to convey the love I feel in my heart for our Lord and for those He has given me to council.
This is beautiful! I found you through my girlfriends blog. I love your creativity! Thanks for sharing
